This was some sort of camera club holiday by the looks of it who spent about 20 minutes taking and comparing their close ups of pigeons and all the time swapping lenses, changing flashes and messing about with right angle finders etc etc to get the ultimate in pigeon portraits. Obviously they'd been in Venice long enough to exhaust all other photographic potentials.
As well as working on whatever commissions I've had to do over the last few weeks, I've spent the rest of my time stuck in front of the computer working on a new website which has finally been launched. My new site has it's own domain name but can be linked through by visiting the old one which is here. The new site is for all of my commercial work whilst the old address is now primarily for music and a bit of fashion related work. In addition to the portfolio side of things, the new site also has a fully searchable database and images can be ordered online for commercial or personal purposes. This stock library is in it's early days and there's a lot to be uploaded but it's a start and it will be getting new images added to it on a daily basis so keep checking back for new additions.
Finally, the new site also has a guestbook and I'd really appreciate it if people could register so that I can can keep you informed as to any major updates or news of exhibition previews/launches and I promise that I won't pester you on a regular basis! I'll leave that to those who follow me on Twitter!
Just uploaded to the new site is this photo of Sparrow & The Workshop, a band I photographed recently who I may have mentioned once or twice as they are very very very very good!
I keep getting these emails saying 'such and such is following you on Twitter' when I'm not even on Twitter. Or at least I didn't think I was. But then I just clicked through to find out that in some moment of weakness I've actually signed up and given one update at some point in the past. Unknowingly I've joined the Twitter revolution when I don't even know what it is. I'm a twit. Apparently I can now tell people when I'm going to walk the dog etc and they can follow me. In a virtual way. And for those of you not on Twitter, I'm off to walk the dog.
These couple of photographs are relevant to nothing but I had to go through my archive for a client this morning, looking for Liverpool photographs, and I came across these two very different photographs that I liked. One is of the Hard Days Night Hotel's hoardings and the other is from the Biennial launch last year. Everyone is playing an indoor game of football at the party and this poor fella looks like he no longer wants to be a chicken.
I've finally added more work to my website, some of which has been on here over the last few months but some which hasn't. This image isn't on the website but it's a personal favourite that I took whilst covering this year's Mathew Street Festival.
Over the last few weeks I've been working on a new website and building all of the content for it. The new site, as well as looking very different, also has my archive, stock images and personal projects alongside my commercial and editorial portfolios and collections of published work. Got sucked into the iphone hype and got one at the weekend but at least I didn't queue up to buy one at 6.02pm on Friday! Here's the first attempt at using the camera and it's looking good.
I've just changed my site, AGAIN, and this time included a link to the new library site. Also, the new library site works best in black so I've decided to change all of the sections and then ended up changing loads of the images. I've also updated my printed portfolio for the first time in ages so please let me know if you would like to make an appointment.
The website is now online. It's got a new design and a much needed content update. I've also got rid of some of the waste. It's a new slimmer version etc etc...This is a photograph of Rhyl Promenade that isn't on the site.
