Manchester Discover was a great festival held over the bank holiday in and around Albert(o) Square outside the Town Hall where a massive amount of street entertainers, musicians, horses (9 of them) and all kids of other types of Balearic culture was put on show to promote tourism to the islands of Majorca, Minorca, Formentera and Ibiza and each day saw a parade walk along Cross Street. The parade in no way was the polite Lord Mayor's type we get to see in the UK but a full on assault on the general public and within minutes of beginning outside the Arndale Centre there was the noise of ringing bells and drums coming at you from all sides, flour being thrown everywhere, people being swept out of the way and general chaos on the streets.
More Spanish culture (and madness) to come in the form of Minorcan Dressage, Flamenco, Comedy swing bands and humane firework devils!
