It's hip to be square

This is a photograph taken for Shoot Experience who are hosting the Met To Tate photo competition in Liverpool over the coming months. Myself, Peter Carr and Helen Palmer were asked to go out and take some photographs for the brochure/map and they all had to be cropped to square. I also had a conversation, on the same day, about the Mamiya C330 square medium format camera with Matt from Black & Ginger and that's got me wanting to shoot on film again and actually not having to crop on the computer!

Library site

I've just added a fully searchable library site to my website which will eventually include all of my archive alongside new stock images. There's only a handful of galleries currently online but more will added on a daily basis and at some point will fully replace the old archive and the site dedicated to Liverpool images. There's currrently no link through from the main site but you can reach it here for now.

The Aeroplanes

Here's one image from a new session with Liverpool band The Aeroplanes. I'll add more when the band choose which ones they want to use.

Deaf School

Photographed the 1970's band Deaf School on Saturday at The Carling Academy. Never heard them before and was mostly impressed. Best thing though was being younger than most of the audience for the first time in a long time!

Return To Rhyl

I've been trying to get back to Rhyl all summer to take some photographs for myself and to see what's happening now that the fair has been closed for good. The site is now to host a new residential and retail development called Ocean Plaza. So what's new? Well, they've poshed up the front in a rather nice way which is where I found this nice piece of donkey art. They've also got rid of the blue, yellow and red colour scheme and replaced them with pastels. And they've got a new Welsh Dragon Adventure Golf place on the prom. Apart from that, the line dancing shop is still thriving, the machines in front of the arcades still play the same tunes and airguns are still easy enough to get hold of. In fact, the man in the car boot sale at the back of the fairground had already sold 3 by 12.00pm on Saturday!

MIPEM

I was recently commissioned, by the design agency Uniform, to produce a series of business related portraits for this nice orange MIPEM brochure.

69 Redesign

Here's the cover and a single page spread from the new edition of 69 Magazine, though this is the midlands edition. We did both the midlands shoot and the northern one on the same day with the idea that they would be the same shoot but the 2 editions of the magazine would have slightly different images in them. It was all shot in a small theatre in Leicester and it was absolute chaos but I'm made up with the results. Thanks to Chris Ward, Hadrian Munroe and Cheryl Lewis! The northern one will be out soon but you can check out the midlands one online here!

Space Magazine

Saturday was spent down at Norton's For Scrap on the dock road, shooting a fashion story for the relaunch of Liverpool's Space Magazine. It'll all look a lot more glamorous when finished and I'll show the proper images when the magazine is published.

Rare fashion

I recently did a shoot for Think PR and their client Rare Fashion
and this is a shot from that shoot. The shoot was in colour, as is virtually all of my fashion work, but I like this one in black & white. If you check the Rare site then refreshing the browser brings up a different image.

Done!

The website is now online. It's got a new design and a much needed content update. I've also got rid of some of the waste. It's a new slimmer version etc etc...This is a photograph of Rhyl Promenade that isn't on the site.
